No news doesn't always equal good news

I'll try to keep this quick for you. I'll be 30 weeks on Wednesday. WOW. I had my ultrasound today to check the status of my low lying placenta. The tech can't tell me much, but said that the Radiologist will take a look then let my OB know who will then let me know. I have an OB appointment tomorrow, but the Radiologist wasn't there today so we'll see if I get the results tomorrow not. *crosses fingers* The tech did say something that made me turn into a huge worry wart (I thought I couldn't get any worse). She was measuring Brynlee's abdomen and asked, "Do you have gestational diabetes?" I told her I didn't have the results of my test yet. She said that the baby's abdomen is measuring a "few weeks ahead" and that is usually a sign of GD. So I am sitting there almost in tears and trying so hard to think happy thoughts so I didn't cry. I looked at the screen and it said her abdomen is measuring 31 weeks. First of all, that is only ONE WEEK ahead. I wanted to punch her.

Unfortunately, no news does not always mean good news. I did the 3 hour glucose tolerance test last Wednesday and still had not heard from my OB's office. I called today for my results. The nurse said that 2 out of my 4 blood levels were "slightly elevated" which could mean gestational diabetes. So the GD specialist at the hospital called me today and I have an appointment on Friday at 10:00am to go over diet, exercise, taking blood checks, etc. Hopefully it will be managed by diet and I won't need to be put on insulin. *crosses fingers*

I feel like I have had a pretty decent pregnancy up until now. After Friday, I will have had 5 appointments this month and I am not even down to my 1 week appointments yet! I go 3 times this week. I am going to try and stay positive and do whatever I need to do to follow the doctor's orders and make sure me and Brynlee are healthy. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Less than 80 days to go!

I feel like I haven't updated in forever, but I also feel like there's not much to update on! It seems as though time is flying, but things are staying the same. Does that make any sense? I'll be 29 weeks on Wednesday. I can't believe that I am almost to 30 weeks then 32 weeks...etc The 3rd trimester is a bit on the rough side though. I am oh-so-achy. I can't sleep very well because my hips and back hurt pretty badly. My belly is sticking out further and getting quite heavy to lug around. Brynlee feels like a little creepy crawler in my belly and Joey has felt her doing weird movements a few times. I feel like she is constantly moving in there!

I also have some bad news. I took the 1 hour glucose tolerance screening last week and I failed it. :( Now I have to go back on Wednesday morning and take the 3 hour test! Yuck! I hear the 3 hour is a billion times worse than the 1 hour test. :( I also have to take iron pills now because I am slightly anemic. Due to iron kinda messing with your natural system, I also have to up the fiber! Grrrr.

My baby shower was on Saturday, May 14th and I had a great time! My mom came down from North Dakota and planned a really fun party with the help of my sister Ashley, sister-in-law Paige, and my cousin Brittney, and my best friend JoAnna. It was at my mother-in-law's house and she picked up a very pretty and tasty cake.

I had quite a few guests there. I did have a few "friends" RSVP, but then not show up so that was a little weird. (If you know me, you know how I am about respect and things like that. I know you have a phone so pick it up and use it.) We played a few fun games, ate delicious food (thanks Brittney!), opened presents and just visited. I am glad that not many people tried to touch my belly! I HATE that. I let a few people touch it, but only because I felt weird telling them no. I got a lot of awesome gifts! I think I am loaded on baby cleaning products for a lonnnnng time, lol.

Joey and I went to Target last night and bought small things that we need that we didn't get at the shower. We still have a few small things to pick up along the way, but I figure we have some time to do that. We'll also need to get a high chair, a small umbrella stroller, and a learn-to-walk thing. I need to order the curtains for the nursery, pick up a lamp, get some storage bins for the changing table, and a laundry basket for her room.

We're getting the bed and dresser out of the nursery this evening and also picking up her dresser this weekend. Then I can start organizing, decorating, and putting away her clothes and things! I don't want to finish it all too quickly though because I need something to keep me busy until her due date (besides working, of course)!

Here's to hoping that we have her at the end of July. (July 20th would be perfect little Miss Priss!)

Hello 3rd Trimester :)

Today marks 27 weeks and the beginning of my 3rd trimester. WHOO HOO! I am so excited! I can't believe that this pregnancy is just moving right along. Now I am worried that these last 3 months are going to drag on by. I am going to try to stay busy as far as work goes and also slowly getting the nursery together. I don't want to get it finished too quickly and then just sit around staring at her stuff. =P
The 3rd trimester is starting off like this:
Leg cramps + Bigger uterus + Growing baby + Baby kicking Mama's ribs + Allergies = Achy ribs, back, and trouble sleeping. =(

I know it will all be worth it, but I can already feel my energy starting to disappear. Plus, it doesn't help that at 27 weeks, my uterus is about the size of a BASKETBALL!!! I have a short torso, so I have been feeling her rib kicks for about a week now. She has always been kicking up high anyway. But now I am starting to get out of breath a lot easier and it takes me a few minutes to recover from something simple like walking across the school building. :( I am not looking forward to summer in this Texas heat...

Brynlee is roughly 2 lbs and about 14.5-15 inches long now. I read that she looks like she will when she is born except she is thinner and smaller (and redder and wrinklier). So basically if we were to do a 3D/4D ultrasound now, we could see who's lips, chin, nose, etc she has! How crazy is that?? I hope she is not cursed with my teeny tiny ears!

On another note, my 25th birthday is tomorrow. :) We are going to have a BBQ on Saturday with some friends for a little celebration and because we want an excuse to have a BBQ with our friends, lol.

I can't wait for my friends and family to be here next weekend. I want this week and next week to fly by!
