{Late} Father's Day Post

I know this post is a tad late, but I kept forgetting to share what Brynlee and I did for Joey for Father's Day. I wanted to surprise him even though he is incredibly hard to buy for. He always wants expensive, elaborate gifts like a new bow (he got that a few months ago) or a new computer. Ridiculous.

On my Mommy board, one of the girls posted a shirt she was planning to buy for her husband so I logged on to Amazon to look at more Daddy shirts. I found this funny one...

I got it for him because well, it's true. :) He hasn't worn it. He says he will, but who knows. Maybe he'll wear it when the new baby is born. I also wanted to do something that I saw on Pinterest. It's a Daddy questionnaire. I wanted to record Brynlee answering the questions, but she would not cooperate...of course. So I decided to have a back up plan just in case. I typed up a questionnaire, made it all pretty, sent it to Walgreens to be printed as a photo (in color) only for it to NOT WORK. It came out blurry and ugly. I was so mad. I had printed a black and white copy at work just in case the Walgreens plan didn't pan out. Good thing I had that.

It's a bit hard to read since I couldn't get a good picture of it without the reflection of the light, but here are her answers:

my daddy's name is Joey.
my daddy's age is 4.
my daddy has black eyes and no hair.
my daddy's favorite color is purple and black.
my daddy's favorite animal is kitty cat.
my daddy's favorite food is pizza.
my daddy smells like farts and poop (seriously, this made me LMAO).
my daddy's best friend is me and mommy.
my daddy likes to play on his computer and snuggle.
my daddy loves mommy and Brynlee.
my daddy always lets me play in my playroom.
my daddy is funny when he farts.
my favorite thing to do with daddy is hug.
I LOVE my daddy because I love him so much!

She made me laugh on some of her answers. It's funny because some of them are right and the ones that are wrong, she truly believe are right! Like she really thinks his favorite animal is a kitty cat. Anyway, it was fun to do this for him even if he didn't seem like he liked the gifts, lol. My pregnancy brain made me get him a Happy Birthday gift bag instead of a Happy Father's Day. Whoops! He didn't notice (of course) until I pointed it out though.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Brynlee and her Daddy.

12 weeks

Things are going well here with me. I went to the maternal-fetal specialist/high risk OB yesterday because of my history of gestational diabetes. I was pleasantly surprised to get to have an ultrasound. Of course, there's not a lot that can be seen this early. At my first ultrasound, baby was measuring about 6 days "behind". I say it like that because most people know doctors calculate due date based on your last missed period, but I know that I ovulated late so it makes sense that the baby would measure a little off. I was 12w1d yesterday and baby was measuring 12w3d so no concerns about not growing or anything like that. Baby had a nice strong heart beat (173 bmp) and still looks like a gummy bear. Sorry, no picture. The doctor did print out two for me, one of the baby and one of the heart beat, but they are blurry.

I was unpleasantly surprised to have to do the one hour glucose test yesterday. It did make my stomach hurt. I asked if I would have to take the three hour test if I fail the one hour and was told that it depends on how badly I fail the one hour. With Brynlee, I barely failed the one hour test and I failed two out of four blood draws for the three hour test. So obviously I am not hoping that I completely bomb it because that's bad, but I also don't want to take the three hour! The doctor did say that if I pass the one hour, he still wants me to take it again around 24 weeks. So maybe I'll pass it and I can skip finger pricking for a while. I should find out the results this afternoon.

I am not sure if people are starting to think I may be pregnant or what, but two people at my job asked me how many kids I have. I think that's a hint that they are asking if I am pregnant. I don't know. One of them does sit a few desk down from me and I am sure he has heard my co-workers and I talking about pregnancy, maternity leave, parenting choices, etc. But the lady who asked me doesn't sit anywhere near me. She doesn't even work in the same room as me. I know I don't look pregnant yet, just a fatty.

Besides not sleeping well, tossing and turning, and using the restroom 6-10 times a night (seriously), I am also plagued with pregnancy dreams and strangeness. Last night, I was awake for over an hour because I could not remember the name of a soda I like. I could remember what the box looks like. I could remember that I like the original, the peach, and the black cherry flavors. I could remember that Joey's brother also likes this drink. But I could not remember the name. When I can't remember a person's name, I go through the alphabet and say names that start with each letter and I almost always remember the person's name. So I tried that with soda names. It bothered me so much that I could not remember. I went back to sleep and woke up again with my brain full of soda names. I asked Joey this morning what the soda is called. I said, "It's a clear soda that we used to buy..." and he said, "Sprite? Sierra Mist? 7Up?" NO! Those are obvious ones, lol. Finally he said, "FRESCA?" YES! FRESCA! Got it.

I also had a dream that I was at a meeting and I was covered in sweat. I mean covered. Gross, but probably not far from the norm. What can I say? I'm a sweaty gal. I've also had bad dreams about Joey lately. Luckily, I know they are dreams so I don't wake up mad at him or anything. But it still sucks to have bad dreams about him.

Another thing that has sucked this time around is my headaches! They are so bad. I will have them for 24+ hours at a time. Then I feel like the headache goes away and then another one shows up. It sucks only being able to take Tylenol because that doesn't help my headaches at all. I am also wondering if I have had an increase in headaches the last week or so because I have not been drinking coffee in the morning. It was starting to upset my stomach. Either way, I see my regular OB on Monday so I am going to mention these horrible headaches.

I've also drastically increased my water intake. I need to make sure I am drinking at least 70 oz of water at work each day and then I have a bottle of water with dinner. I bought this 34 oz water jug over the weekend and I drink two of them while at work. Of course, I have to go to the bathroom constantly, but at least I am drinking lots of water.

I need to get a pregnancy journal for this little one. I really enjoyed keeping track of everything I was going through with Brynlee so I want to do the same for this pregnancy. I also scheduled my next visit with the high risk OB for six weeks from now. I'll be 18 weeks. So on August 5th, we should know gender! The first 12 weeks have gone by fast so I hope the next six do the same. :)

Nice weekend!

Oh how I wish weekends were longer! Of course, I am not willing to work 10 hour days Monday-Thursday in order to have a 3 day weekend every week. I was working 9 hour days in order to work half days on Fridays and that sucked. I can't imagine how tired I would be to stay an extra hour every day. I get to work at 7:30 so I can leave before 4 every day.

I had a nice weekend. I took Brynlee to the water park near my house on Saturday. My sister and her baby met us there. For the first 35 minutes, Brynlee was not happy to be there. I am not sure why. She didn't want to walk in the water, get on the slides, or swim. She just wanted me to carry her. And boy does my back still hurt today! I've slept horribly every night due to the lower back pain. After a 10 minute break sitting at the table watching other kids have fun, she finally decided to have fun, too. I wish it wouldn't have taken her so long since we were really only there for a couple of hours. Also, it is OUTRAGEOUS how much they charge to get in! Brynlee was free since she's under 3, but my adult ticket was $16.99! They get you that way because they know adults are going to bring their kids and not just send them by alone. It's still crazy expensive. We did pack a lunch, but you're also not allowed to bring in any outside food or drink. We really didn't want to have to load our stuff, lose our table, and go out to the warm car to eat. So I just went ahead and bought us lunch and a drink to share. We got a small pizza and a drink for $16! WTF. Outrageous. The park was fun though.

Mama and Brynlee
Shelby and Laynea
The water park wore me out! I know it's okay for me to be exhausted right now since I am growing a human and all, but DAMN! I felt so drained. I took a nap and then Joey's Dad came over to see our house and go out to dinner. Brynlee loves her Grandpa. Joey's brother, Eric, and Grandpa look A LOT alike. Brynlee kept calling him Eric! She'd say, "Eric, uh Grandpa..." It had be laughing. I kept telling her that's not Eric, but I can see how she would be confused. Of course, Brynlee had to sit by Grandpa at dinner and bug him, haha! It was nice to sit next to my hubby for once...except his big arms were in my way making it difficult to cut up my chimichanga!

Brynlee & Grandpa
It rained A LOT on Sunday. I am thankful for the rain, but I'd rather stay home all day. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to do that. We had to get our grocery shopping done. Otherwise, we are tempted to eat crappy fast food during the week. We don't want that especially because Joey has been working hard to eat right and lose weight (more on that later). I put Brynlee's hair in a cute little side pony tail (which she said she wanted) and then she promptly removed it. KIDS! That's not a battle I am willing to fight so I asked her if she wanted to wear a headband instead. She did. She chose a cute little headband to wear out to lunch.

No smile. All of the pictures were blurry where she was smiling. I don't mind letting her express herself as long as she's not throwing a rip roaring fit. Plus, she looks cute with her little Minnie ears on. <3 We had a nice, healthy lunch and then went grocery shopping. Brynlee kept telling us she didn't want to go to the store. Joey made me laugh because he said he understands that she doesn't want to go, but she has no choice. We give this kid a lot of choices. It was POURING when we got to the store so Joey dropped us off at the front of the store while he went to park. Brynlee got upset and said the storm was going to take Daddy. I had to explain to her that he was just dropping us off at the store so we don't have to get wet. Then she said, "But my Daddy get all wet!" Well, that's the price you pay when you're the Daddy. Ha! We spent the rest of the day just hanging out around the house. Joey made a bunch of chicken (10 pounds worth in 4 different marinades) so we have plenty of chicken for the week. Brynlee has been playing with her baby dolls a lot lately. I think she is gearing up to be a big sister. We do talk about it often so hopefully she will enjoy her new role.
Putting her baby to sleep, changed her diaper, and cuddling her.
It's pouring today. I am very thankful that I park in a parking garage every day! I didn't sleep well last night and then Brynlee woke up at 5am. I've had a raging headache that just won't go away. It started sometime in the middle of the night. Since I can only take Tylenol, I doubt the headache will go away any time soon. I need Ibuprofen! Anyway, I was already having a bleh kind of morning. I got dressed in a baggy top and a long sleeve cover up thing knowing that my office would be chilly. Brynlee cheered me up by telling me she likes my bubble shirt (it has circles on it) then she shouted, "POP! POP! POP!" It was funny. She didn't throw any fits while getting her dressed, brushing her teeth, or telling her to turn off her TV. I had to wrap her in her rain coat and carry her to the car. When we got in, she thanked me for carrying her to da car in da rain. Sometimes she's a sweetie. Once we got to school, she told me she wanted to go back home and cuddle with Mommy on da couch. Sorry kid, no can do, but I'd like to do that!

By the way, I've hit 12 weeks today! I guess that means I should tell my boss sometime soon. When's the proper time to tell? My co-workers know so I feel like it's just a matter of time before someone spills the beans in front of her on accident. I don't want that to happen, that's for sure. I see the high risk OB tomorrow afternoon and I see my regular OB next Monday. I'll probably tell her sometime shortly after that.

How was your weekend?

There's a 'lil Armenian in me!

I am glad that I can finally freely talk about what I am excited most about...the little Armenian in me! It honestly still doesn't feel real yet. I haven't really gained any weight...unless you count how I have my doctor appointments in the afternoons fully clothed and the scale is always 5 lbs higher than my scale at home! Blah. Nobody wants to see that!

It has been easier to "hide" this pregnancy until I was ready to share because I have not been nearly as sick as I was with Brynlee. Oh and I am definitely eating more than broccoli and tomatoes. With her, I found out on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving was when the all day sickness began. It lasted until I was 17 weeks pregnant. I was constantly throwing up, nauseous, and unable to eat. Then I was occasionally sick until I was 21 weeks. It went away after that and I had a few weeks of pregnant bliss. Then the uncomfortable sleepless nights dominated my life! I was also pregnant with her during the hottest Texas summer (June-August) in US history with 100 days over 100+ degrees! I worked in a building with no AC throughout that summer. It was dreadful. How I felt with Brynlee's pregnancy is one reason we kept putting off having another baby. I just couldn't imagine feeling like that again while also taking care of a toddler.

This time around, everything is pretty much opposite. I've only thrown up a few times and it was mostly due to smells (and one evening of drinking too much sweet tea). I do gag a lot though and come close to losing it all. I am pretty sensitive to all smells, but especially body odor (gag), raw meat, hot dogs (gag), eggs cooking, too much perfume/cologne, etc. I also feel sick after brushing my teeth. I have a client who smells horribly bad. Every time she comes to visit, I sit at my desk in agonizing pain with extreme nausea. Luckily, I have not thrown up while she is meeting with me, but I have come close. The last time she visited with me was right after I finished eating lunch. I almost lost it.

My stomach is achy/hungry all the time. I definitely had to get used to that because I usually eat breakfast, lunch, a small afternoon snack, and then dinner. I don't snack after dinner ever. But I've been waking up in the middle of the night with a stomach ache and it's hard to tell if it's hunger pangs or what. It sucks. :( I haven't had any noticeable cravings other than I craved bacon every morning for a couple of weeks. It went away though.

We won't know until the first or second week of August if we're having a boy or a girl. It's funny because everyone I know just assumes we're having a boy. I guess because 1.) We already have a girl and 2.) This pregnancy is opposite of Brynlee's so that must mean boy. I am crossing my fingers that it's a boy, but I'll be just as happy to have two little girls to love on. :)

I asked Brynlee last night what she wants to name her little brother or sister. She said she wants to name her little sister Brynlee. LMAO! Then today in the car, she told me that she wants a little sister and Mommy wants a little brother. I told her that I will be happy if we have a little sister and happy if we have a little brother. She said, "No. You want a little brother!" Okay, I do. But I would LOVE to see Brynlee have a little sister! So I am really happy either way. It's easier for me to think of girl names (I know that I have two I like, one of which we mentioned when thinking of names for Brynlee so I know DH at least kind of likes it). But boy names are HARD!

Brynlee told me yesterday in the car, after school, that she wants to tell ALL her friends that Mommy has a baby in her belly. She then named a bunch of school friends and all of her teachers. She said she is going to tell them tomorrow (today). I told her that I don't care if she tells her friends and teachers. She said, "It's not a secret!" She seemed excited. I am sure it was hard for a 2 year old to keep such a big secret for so many weeks, lol.

I see the high risk OB next week (for GD) and then I see my OB again on the 30th. I'll be 13 weeks then so hopefully they will go ahead and schedule my anatomy scan for around the time of my next appointment!

Here's a cute little throw back Thursday for you because she is just too cute!

A much needed vent

I honestly don't ever use my blog as a place to vent or complain, but something troublesome has been weighing on my mind for a long time now. I feel as though I have to get it out before I explode and say things that I may regret someday. This post may offend some. This post may get a lot of "AMENS!" from some and a lot of hurt feelings from others. But honestly, this post comes from my heart and isn't that what blogs are for?

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people say that daycare raises children. Daycare does not raise children. Joey and I are her parents. We raise Brynlee. We parent her. Daycare helps children to learn and grow. Does that mean that I don't read to my child? I don't teach her manners? I don't teach her respect, discipline her, encourage her, and motivate her to grow into a productive and respectable human being? I don't sing to and with her? I don't feed her? Spend time with her? Love her? Snuggle her? No, I don't do those things because I am a horrible Mom who sends my child to daycare to be raised my someone else.

I've said a thousand times over the last 4 years that the hardest thing a working Mom has to do is trust someone else to watch her child while she works. It's hard to trust someone else to love and care for your child while you earn money to pay for the needs and the wants. It's hard to choose a daycare provider. It's hard to decide between in-home vs daycare facility. It's so difficult to make sure you choose the right place. It's even harder when your child is too young to talk and can't tell you if there's something amiss. Choosing daycare is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make in my 3 years of being a parent.

Brynlee has pretty much been in daycare since she was 6 weeks old. Why? Because not only do I have to work, but *gasp* I enjoy using the college degree I worked hard for. We have bills. We have things we like to do and things we like to buy. We are a two income family and we like it that way. Does that mean that I like having my daughter in daycare? No. I cried for days leading up to going back to work for the first time after she was born. I only had 5 weeks off from work and most of that was unpaid. I had to take my itty bitty new baby to someone else's house every morning and let that person (who I love very much) snuggle my baby, feed my baby, change my baby, and love my baby. When Brynlee was around 12 months old, our provider bought a house and would be moving outside of town. It wasn't going to be convenient for us for drop-off/pick-up with work. Joey and I decided to move Brynlee to a daycare facility that was more of a learning environment with curriculum, more kids to socialize with, etc. That was a tough decision as well. We had to choose a facility and she had to adjust to it. For the first week, Brynlee cried every day when I dropped her off. Who wants to leave their child somewhere and walk away while they cry? Working moms (and dads) have to do it a lot especially during an adjustment period. I would cry almost the entire way to work. I worried that she hated it there. What if she was being mistreated? All of the fears would run through my head.

She stayed in that daycare until we moved to Fort Worth in March 2013. So she was there for about 6 1/2 months or so. As some of you may remember, it took a while for me to find a job once we moved to Fort Worth. I had numerous interviews (and second and third rounds), but didn't get a job until the end of July. So Brynlee stayed home with me for 5 months. Joey and I looked into various facilities and selected one. We toured it. We talked to the managers and the teachers. We brought Brynlee up there so she could check it out. I started my job August 5th so I started her back in daycare on August 3rd so we had a couple of days to get used to our get up early/drive to school routine. She cried screamed every day when I dropped her off. When I picked her up, she would run to me bawling and wanted me to pick her up. This lasted for 6 weeks. Six straight weeks of her crying every day at drop off and pick up. Her teachers said she would only cry for a few minutes after I left, but would cry off and on throughout the day. When other kids would get picked up, she would cry for her own Mommy. Twice during my first month of work, I picked her up at 5:58pm. Daycare closes at 6:00pm. She was one of the last kids there. Could I help that? No. I had work obligations. Did I feel like shit? Without a doubt. Does she still cry when I drop her off? No. She loves school. She loves her teachers. She tells me what she does every day, brings home pictures she scribbled on, and tells me she missed me. She knows all of her colors and body parts, both of which she has known for a long, long time. She knows her ABCs. She counts to 20, but skips 15 and 16 almost every time. She knows and sings so many songs. She talks about circle time. Every day we talk about animals and the sounds they make. She loves her friends. She's happy. I am happy. What is wrong with that?

Unfortunately, being a Mom brings out a lot of "Mommy Wars". There's so many different types of Mommy Wars that I can't even keep track. The big ones are breastfeeding vs formula, rear facing car seat vs forward facing, co-sleeping vs crib, vaccinations vs non-vaccinations. There are many, many more. My mommy board has had a few of these throughout our years together. There's a lot of SAHMs (stay at home moms) in our group, but none of them make me feel like shit for being a working Mom. None of them ridicule my choice/need to have my child in full-time daycare. None of them insult me by calling my child a "daycare child". None of them would dare say someone else raises my child. None of them make me feel like I am a bad mother for trusting someone else to care for my child while I bring income into our household. You know why they wouldn't say these things? For one reason, it's not their place to judge the choices my husband and I make for our family. Another reason is that they know that I am not a bad mother just as I know they are not bad mothers. They know that I am providing for my family and so are they. We all make a choice. If you have the choice to be a SAHM where you can still have the income to support your family then by all means, make that choice. But do not insult me for making the choice to work so our family has two incomes for our needs and wants.

It's funny because every SAHM I know says they need a break from their kids sometimes (who doesn't). They are home with their kids 24/7. Every day of the week feels the same. They cook, they clean, they take care of their children, they go to sleep, and they repeat. Sure, some of them have awesome outings, play dates, and fully packed days while others do activities at home, but the lifestyles are pretty similar. So why is it okay for a SAHM to say they need a break from their children, but working moms can't say they enjoy working and being outside of the home for 8-9 hours a day? After I work all day, I also come home to cook, clean, and take care of my child. Yes, I have a wonderful husband who does those things as well, but we all know the brunt of the household and childcare duties still fall on the mother. I would say that my husband does a lot more than other dads though. My point is that we all do the best we can do. Parenting is tough whether you are a SAHM/D or a working parent.

Why do parents (moms especially) insult and ridicule each other? Why can't everyone just realize that we're all doing the best we can with what we have. We're all making the best decisions possible for our families and no two families are exactly alike. I typically keep my mouth shut when people make stupid blanket statements especially on a public place like Facebook, but I will not keep my mouth shut when someone continuously insults me by saying my child is a "daycare child" and is being raised by someone else.

Those types of comments will not be tolerated. I will not put up with it. I will not be insulted. I will not be put down. And I sure as hell will not let my child be on the receiving end of these comments. I don't care if you're my best friend, my worst enemy, a random person I hardly know, or my family member; I do not have to nor will I choose to put up with your shitty comments. Think before you speak.

A new chapter for the Petrosians

The Petrosians are so beyond happy to announce...

Petrosian #2 due January 5, 2015. We are beyond excited to be adding a new chapter to our lives! I am 11 weeks pregnant with Petrosian #2. Brynlee has known since the day I found out. You see, Moms get NO privacy in the bathroom, ya'll. I was taking a test and Brynlee came in the bathroom. She was so confused that I was peeing "on my hand" (in a cup). I tried to tell her to go in the other room and she just stared at me. So after I dipped the test and it came up positive, I instantly hugged her and told her she was going to be a big sister! She has done pretty well at keeping "our little secret". She did spill the beans to my brother and sister-in-law before we planned for her to tell people, but I guess that's what we get for telling a 2 year old a secret. After I told her that it was Mommy, Daddy, and Brynlee's little secret, she kept the beans in the bag.

Brynlee can't decide what she wants to have (good thing she doesn't get to choose). First, she told me she wants a little sister so she can hug her and hold her hand. *Awwwww!* I told her that she can hug and hold a little brother's hand, too. Then she told me she wants a little brother. THEN she said she is having a little brother AND a little sister! THEN she said she is having two little sisters. Um, no. Luckily, we already confirmed that there is indeed just one in there. *whew* We will definitely find out the gender. We'll be able to do that sometime around the beginning of August. I'll be 18 weeks on August 4th so hopefully we'll have the anatomy scan closer to 18 than 20 weeks. I have to prepare! If this little one is a girl then we are set. We have so many gigantic bins of clothes in the attic. I'd have to check Brynlee's old car seat though to make sure it's not yet expired. If this one is a little boy *crosses fingers* then we'll have to do some heavy duty selling so we can buy boy clothes. I don't care about using Brynlee's girly pack n play, swing, etc. for a little boy, but Joey does want to sell the pink strollers and get something more boy friendly. :) Hopefully we'll find out and if it's a boy then I'll be able to price and tag everything to sell at the Just Between Friends fall/winter sale. Of course, I'd still have to go through everything again and sale more at the spring/summer sale.

Because I am plagued with Gestational Diabetes, I will probably have a December baby. It'd be nice to go into labor on my own, but most likely I'd end up being induced like I was with Brynlee. I can't believe that we may have a new baby by the end of this year. 2014 has flown by already so I can't imagine how fast the rest of the year will go.

I am happy that I am no longer keeping this huge secret and can finally openly talk about how excited The Petrosians are to grow our family!

Like Mother Like Daughter?

I love summer, but I really don't like the fact that it stays light outside for so long. Well, I enjoy it on the weekends but not during the work week. It makes it hard to get Brynlee to bed at night. She wants to stay up later. But we still have to wake up and go to school and work in the morning! She's not difficult to put to bed, but she doesn't want to stop watching her TV shows in the evenings. I've been reading books with her before bed and that helps, but she still huffs and puffs about going to bed. She does not get that from me, that's for sure. I love going to bed.

Last night we didn't go to bed until 9pm. Normally she goes to bed around 8pm. She was SOMETHING ELSE this morning. First of all, I got up to use the restroom sometime early, early this morning. I heard a kick at my bedroom door. I opened the door and she was laying on the floor with her pillow. She had even fallen asleep like that. Sorry, no picture. I didn't even turn on the light much less get my phone and take a picture of her. It was cute though. I woke her up and asked her what she was doing. She said, "I sweep wit you. I tired." Great. So I had her go potty and put her in bed with me. I let her sleep while I got ready for work and when I turned on the bedroom light to get dressed, she was mad. She told me she's not going to school, she doesn't want to get dressed, and turn off the light!!! I told her that she needs to put on shoes and she can go to school in her pjs. She flipped out about that. She fought with me the entire time getting ready. Crying, saying she wanted Daddy, and refusing to let me put her clothes on or do her hair. Messy bun for the win! She even crossed her arms when I tried to put her shirt on her. Grrrrrr. She didn't want to brush her teeth either. This kid...Normally she's pretty easy going so when we have these "rough" days, it sucks.

She cried and cried and just wanted her Daddy to put her in the car. So he did. She cried while I drove down the block and then THIS is what this kid told me. "Mommy, I cryin' cause I sick. I coughin' cause I cryin' and I cryin' cause I sick. *cough cough* I stay home today, no school. Cause I sick and I cryin'." Yeah, I get that. But you're also being an asshole and I definitely don't want to stay home with an asshole.

I am rubbing off on her. I tell her in the mornings that I don't want to go to work. So she has started saying she doesn't want to go to school and she doesn't want Mommy to go to work. Unfortunately, we've got bills, ya know? Like the rest of the world.

Here's some cute recent pictures of her...not being an asshole.

Brynlee and her baby.
I love this heart dress! She had dandelion petals in her hands.

Brynlee and Rita.
Sock bun! It didn't last long. :(
Brynlee is a Rangers fan!
Brynlee's new teacher at daycare taught her how to say "Darvish! Darvish! Darvish!" It was funny. I tried to get her to show Joey, but she wouldn't do it. PITA. Here's a funny video of her at dinner one night. She cracks me up. She's really focused on that chicken gravy sandwich she is making...

I can't believe she will be 3 years old next month! She is so smart and funny.

Weekend Recap

I know some people are "go go go" all the time, but I honestly enjoy weekends where we don't do much. We were SO busy for Memorial Day Weekend and I wanted to do nothing this weekend. I used to always have busy weekends and now I feel like it's okay to just relax at home. It gives me time to unwind from a long work week and to be honest, I like staying in my pjs. Ha!

Friday night, we must not have done anything because I can't remember what we did. Oh yeah, we went to dinner at Chili's and then went home. That's my kind of night. ;) Friday night, Joey "surprised" me and told me that he invited some of our friends over for a BBQ on Saturday. Of course, panic went through my head about needing to clean our house and mow the lawn. So Saturday we were cleaning and taking care of the yard. We went grocery shopping and then came home. I was going out to the shed in the backyard to get the outside broom to sweep the porch. Something happened and I tripped over our wonky steps and fell to the ground. My left ankle hurt so bad. By this point, it was about 3pm and our friends were coming over at 6. Joey had me go in and lay on the bed. He asked me probably 3 times if I thought we should go to the Care Now clinic to get it checked out and I kept saying that it was just a sprain and I'd be fine. But I couldn't walk on it.

Around 4pm, I finally said that I think we should go to the urgent clinic. Luckily, we didn't wait long. They did an x-ray and determined that it was indeed just a sprain. They gave me an ankle splint and crutches. Crutches suck. I have had many, many dates with crutches, but the last time was in 12th grade. I was hoping I was done with crutches for the rest of my life.
It's not too bad, really. It hurts pretty bad on the left side (where that bulge is). It is a little bit more bruised this morning, but it's really not that bruised either. The ankle splint helps me walk, but it still hurts to put pressure on it. I felt bad because our friends didn't come over until around 7pm since we were at the clinic and then we still had to make dinner. I am glad they still came over though! I always enjoy hanging out with Tyler and Chrissy. I didn't do anything Sunday except prop my foot up and watch TV.

Anytime I have a "boo boo", Brynlee has one, too. She kept saying her foot hurts, too. This morning, she told me that she couldn't brush her teeth because her knee hurts. I don't understand what her knee has to do with her teeth, but I had to threaten her to get her to brush her teeth! When I tried to do it, she had her lips clenched together so that I couldn't even get her mouth open. You know how I finally got her to brush them? I told her that we would have to go to the dentist and he would take all of her teeth out. I am pretty sure I scared her because she brushed her teeth.

Brynlee made me LOL so hard yesterday. I put clean sheets/comforter on her bed and folded her laundry. When I was done, she bowed and said, "Thank you my Queen!" It made me laugh so hard and then she kept doing it. I know she probably got it from one of the TV shows she watches, but it made me laugh to hear that. I wish I would have recorded it. She is such a nut.

How was your weekend?
