She's Here!

I haven't updated in a long while, but I have a good reason: I'm a new mom! Brynlee Marie Petrosian arrived on July 27, 2011 at 5:18pm after almost exactly 12 hours of labor. She was 8 lbs 3 oz, 20 3/4 inches long, and has a full head of dark black hair.
She's gorgeous and has a crazy personality already. She looks mostly like her Daddy, but definitely has her Mommy's lips.
She is 2 weeks old today. It's definitely taking me some time to adjust to all of the changes, lack of sleep, and everything that comes with being a Mommy. I can no longer sleep with ear plugs in (to block out Joey's snoring) because I am too nervous that I'll miss something like Brynlee spitting up or needing me for something. Right now, I am so tired that I don't need the ear plugs anyway!

Joey is a great dad and helps in any way that he can. Yes, he changes diapers. I am breastfeeding, but supplementing with formula here and there so Joey helps with bottles, too. He likes to cuddle her when he gets home from work and she just snuggles right up to him. He randomly wakes up in the middle of the night (in a very sleepy trance) and asks me questions about the baby. Last night, he asked, "Where's the baby?" I told him that she is in her bassinet and he said, "Okay good." He thought she was in the bed with us and he didn't want to smash her.

At this point, I don't really know what all to say other than I love this little girl so much. It feels strange to say that I have a daughter. The first time I said that, I broke down crying. I'm really not sure why, but I'm sure it was just an overwhelming feeling.

Here's a few pictures for you:

I took this picture yesterday. I told her to take a picture for Daddy and she puckered up her lips :)

I'm sure I'll have plenty more stories and pictures to post. For now, I've got a baby to feed and bathe!

37 Weeks=Full Term!

It's time for an update: I am officially carrying a watermelon in my belly and considered full term! If Brynlee comes any day now then she should be nice and healthy! I had my 37 week appointment on Tuesday and went over my ultrasound, blood sugar numbers, etc. My OB said my ultrasound was good except that the radiologist is concerned that overall, I may have low amniotic fluid. They measured a fluid pocket of 4cmx4cm and they need at least 2cmx2cm, but he said the radiologist was concerned about it. My OB went ahead and performed an NST (Non-Stress Test) on the baby to trace and monitor her due to the recommendation from the radiologist and also due to my blood sugar numbers being so crazy. They are high, they are low, they are normal. It's crazy. I will do weekly NSTs now until I deliver. Every thing was good with the NST.

At my 36 week ultrasound, Brynlee was measuring approximately 6lbs 1oz (she was measuring in the 47th percentile) so I am hoping that she doesn't pack on too much weight before she is born and doesn't go too far over the 8lb mark. Babies tend to gain about .5lbs a week until delivery date. All of her measurements were measuring 36 weeks except her head measured just a little bit smaller. I am guessing she will have her Mama's small head and I am thanking God that she won't have her Daddy's huge head for me to deliver, LOL. I didn't gain any weight in the last week so my total weight gain is still 5lbs. :) I am happy about that. (Even though I look and feel like I've gained 100!)

I don't have much else to update on other than tomorrow is my last day of work until September. I am glad I get a nice break to be home with my baby girl. I am also happy that I will no longer be in this non-ACed office! This has been killer. I am surprised that I have not ballooned up all over my body from dehydration and swelling! I try to drink as much water as possible, but it's tough to do. My belly feels SO FULL already so it's often pretty painful to eat much or drink a lot.

Oh yeah...I also have good news....I will be having a July baby! The OB scheduled my induction for this month so I am happy that we will be meeting her soon! I can't wait for her to get here and I know Daddy is just as excited to meet his little girl. I love the way he talks about her and the way he says he can't wait to meet her, see her, hold her, etc. Joey is going to be such an awesome Dad. I am lucky to have him as my husband and Brynlee is oh-so-lucky to have him as her Daddy.
