Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to me (and all of the Moms/Grandmas/etc out there)!

We didn't do anything special. Joey was up sick all night. Brynlee woke up at 6am. She stayed in bed "talking" until 6:20 before she demanded a bottle. I tried to get her to just play in her pack 'n play in the living room for a little longer, but she wasn't having that. She must have known it was Mother's Day because all she wanted was to hang out with me! Normally she will eat a bottle and go back to sleep until 8:30 or so or if she doesn't go back to sleep, she usually is content playing with all of her toys for a while. NOT TODAY!

She was super clingy all day. She wanted me to hold her. She wanted to sit on my lap. She wanted to touch my face and pull my hair. We read some books, we watched some TV, we sat outside. It was so hard to get her to take a nap! She went to sleep for maybe 20 minutes. So we let her come outside while we did some yard work. We took a late afternoon nap. She was asleep for about 30 minutes before she woke up and would not go back to sleep in her crib. I brought her to the room with me and that was awful. I hardly slept because she is wild and crazy. She would only sleep with her head horizontal on my chest and her body beside me. I HATE sleeping on my back so this was uncomfortable. She then moved to sleeping with her face right against mine and snoring in my ear. She moves so much when she is sleeping. It drives me crazy.

After our nap, we went to Joey's Mom's house for fajitas on the grill. YUM! I love fajitas and they were so good. We hung out a little too late. We left at about 8pm. Brynlee was up and out way after her bed time. So she started to get fussy and cranky. We still had to go by Joey's Dad's house and she fell asleep in the car on the way over. Once we were there, she was fine. She loves all of the attention she gets there. We stayed until Joey's step-mom got there and then headed home. We didn't get her bathed and in bed until after 9pm! She normally has an 8oz bottle and falls right to sleep. She did not want the bottle at all. She was just too tired to eat. She was fighting it. I had to let her lay in bed and whine and fuss because she just couldn't get comfy. Poor baby. It took about 5 minutes before she finally was just too tired to function and fell asleep. She slept until 5am, had a bottle, and went right back to sleep until I woke her up to get her ready for daycare.

I had a huge headache, took Tylenol, and slept great! It wasn't the greatest Mother's Day in the world (Um hello Joey, where's my Mother's Day card???), but it was still a nice day.

What did you do for your the women in your life? What did your family do for you?
