I feel great!

I almost wanted to use today as a "rest day". I told myself that I was going to run on the street in front of the house while Brynlee took a nap. Then I looked at the weather. Uh, 90 degrees and no shade?? NO THANKS. So instead, I watched Pretty Little Liars on Netflix. After dinner, Paige and I decided to go down to the hospital and use the walking path. I love going there. It's a scenic route. So instead of taking a rest day, I stuck to my calendar and did Day 3 of C25K. Then I did my arm weights when we got home. I am very proud of myself! It felt so nice outside. I didn't check the weather, but since the sun wasn't POUNDING down on me, I didn't feel like dying. I even saw a bunny on my run!

I have to say that I am super, super proud of myself for just getting it done. I felt great afterward. You see, I follow a few bloggers who are very inspiring. I read some that have lost lots of weight, are gym rats, and always seem to be on track. (Uh, hello Katie, Skinny Meg, and Mama Laughlin!) And I follow some who are a bit ahead of me, but I feel more...connected to because they still struggle, they still mess up, and they are so real with their posts. Jess over at Operation Skinny Jeans, Amber over at Crafty Healthy Mommy, and Jennifer over at Fat Chick 2 Fit Chick are a few that I love. I read their posts daily and they inspire and motivate me to get my butt moving.

Now I will 100% tell you that you have to motivate yourself. You can't just rely on other people. Sure, it's nice to have an accountability partner, but you have to push yourself. Are you going to give up if your workout buddy does? Are you going to only go for a run/walk/jog/Zumba class if your workout buddy goes, too? You have to find, within yourself, what keeps you going. Is it a poppin' playlist? Is it nice running shoes or workout clothes you feel good in? Is it working out in the morning, afternoon, or night? You have to find what's right for you.

Tonight when we were leaving for our run, Brynlee was SO SAD that she couldn't go "run", too. She kept crying and saying, "Run!!?! Run!!?!" I know she loves taking a ride in the jogging stroller, but honestly, I have posted before that I need time to myself. Going for a run does that for me. My husband loves disc golf. He gets 2+ hours alone (well with whoever he is playing with) to do what he loves. I don't complain when he gets up on a Saturday morning and goes to play. It is something he loves. It's exercise. And he has fun. So I expect him to let me go for a run by myself. And I am never gone for 2 hours. Maybe one day I will get there, lol. ;)

So all I am saying is this...find what works for YOU and then DO IT!

  2. Thank you! :) I almost didn't get my camera on in time to capture that cute little bunny. I was too worried about stopping my Garmin so it would be accurate, LOL!
